Well - your last line shows that maybe I sound like I know what I’m talking about - but I don’t. :) but I have a teen in my house who does. :)

I really appreciate your help - in WP 2.5.1 there is a place to standardize the size of the thumbnail, I guess I have to be sure that I’m always uploading just one of the choices re: size - but when I was going into my images folder, I could see that others were generated.

Let me know if you’re for hire or consult for another Mimbo-themed site! :)

“For the layout to work, some image dimensions must be exact.” Darren Hoyt writes specifically that Mimbo Theme’s “‘Feature’ images are 255×88 pixels while the various category thumbnails are 51×51 pixels each.”

I always use 51px by 51px images for the various category thumbnails (which is what I made everything) on The Brown Spectator’s website.

As a supporter, I’m going to throw in a shameless plug. I’ve found that setting up a 51px by 51px template in GIMP is the quickest way to make these images.

So - if you don’t mind me asking, does that mean that you always make sure that the image you upload is smaller than a certain # x #?

Hmm, interesting. I never had any problems with uploading images in the new WordPress, although sometimes it just doesn’t work. And, in Mimbo, the name of the file I have uploaded is always the same name I put into the custom value box. I did have some trouble when I first implemented Mimbo. I tried using a couple pictures bigger than the theme was built for, and they just never appeared.

Hi Admin - I actually figured that out. :) BUT…working in WP 2.5.1, it seems that I can’t upload anything directly from the Internet, right? I have to load it to my computer first and then upload it to the images folder? I wish there was an easier way.

But also in 2.5.1, when I upload through the Media Gallery, it seems to general three version of each image. So, when I go to put the value into the custom field, I have to add the image size to the filename.

Let me say this - I love what you did with Mimbo for Brown. Another freelance writer and I are trying to manipulate Mimbo but I’m not finding the comments etc. on the forum to be so up to date, and the release of 2.5.1 makes it harder

Anyway - if you have any suggestions about the uploading, we’re all ears.

I am looking for a little bit of assistance related to getting the images to post in Mimbo 2.2 being used with Wordpress 2.5.1.

I’ve changed the path to the themes/mimbo2.2/images folder and can see that my images are getting there.

But when I fill in the key=Image custom field value, update and save (which isn’t always going through), and then look at the post? No image.

I assume that this has something to do with the code in the main template but I cannot for the life of me figure out what.

I love what you’ve done with the Brown mag. Please email me or leave a comment here if you have any suggestions. Thank you very much.
