One of the most uninteresting news sites on the internet

The Brown Daily Herald has got to be one of the most plain themes I’ve ever seen. I don’t hate it. On the one hand, it’s easy to navigate. All the headlines are there. It doesn’t suffer from the cluttered news sites that feel it necessary to put excerpts of every single article on their front page. On the other hand, it’s super unattractive, the site is droll, and it has no frills.

Last semester, The Brown Daily Herald led a Group Independent Study Project which was to lead to a new site. If they are simply looking to have a site much like the site they already have, I have to say, I think it’s sad that the University would offer the student participants credit. After a full semester, the students would have designed a site that a proficient web designer could have built in a little over 3 or 4 hours.
