Caching for Super SEO

by Joshua Unseth on December 16, 2008

A lot of these Open CMS frameworks use a lot of calls to the database in order to generate their content. One of the sites I work with has been pretty well traficked. But I increased traffic overnight by 20% simply by using the WP Super Cache plugin. For WordPress, WP Super Cache is an amazing caching engine. Each CMS is a bit different, but I promise you, if you are generating PHP on the fly, one simple fix you can make to make your site a bit more search engine friendly, is adding some sort of caching system to your site.

Please get rid of the Google Ads and make the call to action for RSS smaller. I find them distracting. Your content is good tho. for real.

Thanks PG, I’ll be getting rid of the ads in the near future. They don’t perform well anyways. As I’m sure you know, monetizing blogs is really hard, especially when they’re low traffic. Unfortunately, the call to action for the RSS is going to stay the same size. 1) because it’s a plugin and I don’t feel like changing the code around. 2) It’s working. People are subscribing to my RSS, somethign that didn’t happen till the giant call to action was put at the top of my content.
