Don’t Discount Nofollowed Links to your Site

by Joshua Unseth on August 18, 2009

Taking a cue from SEOmoz staffer jennita, I’ve titled this post differently than that of the post I’m about to link to. SEOmoz just published my blog post on the importance of nofollow links on its YOUmoz section. I didn’t know it was a big deal until I read jennita’s (I’m really not trying to suck up to her) plea for submissions to SEOmoz. Apparently they only publish 1 in every 10 posts they receive:

Our bar is set high – just to make it to YOUmoz is tough; getting on the main blog is a real challenge. Our readers’ expectations are high and we reject 10 submissions for every 1 we accept. It’s a badge of honor and, in many cases, resume-worthy, particularly in the search world.

In that same post, jennita also encourages bloggers to use images because they keep the interest of the reader. I agree.

Consider Them GoneĀ® Spider Extermination May 21, 2010 at 10:19 am

Lets face it, I have been bitten by the smallest spider and the bump afterwards has sucked for days. Poisoness or NOT getting bit by a camel spider is going to not be fun, even if it doesn’t kill you, waking up staring a camel spider down, would be unnerving

laura October 3, 2010 at 2:01 pm

Camel spiders are a real worry for our soldiers over in desert storm. They cover themselves with sand. They attach to a camel and after they bite the camel, it drops dead within an hour. The spider lays it’s eggs in the camel’s stomach for the spider’s young to feed on. One soldier decided to stomp his foot in the sand next to a camel spider. The spider reared up on it’s hind legs in a defensive posture. The soldier stomped his foot again! The spider jumped onto his leg! He was wearing shorts!! He shot the spider!!!

cool dude October 10, 2010 at 9:30 am

that’s one big motha asshole kill it

Joe October 10, 2010 at 11:07 pm

Around here in southern iraq these things make good bushmeat for the desert rednekks around here.. They are big as a razzerback hawg and ya hafta kilem with a AK cuz the m16 they just laff at. Cours a m249 squad antiperssinel gun kinda wipes the sand outa dem too. Seem em chase our gunny sarge down the street an dam near get im but ole sarge found a m249 in a jeep just befor he dukkd inta a striker APC. Cut three down just as he jumped inta the striker fores they could get throo the door befor he slamed it in the others faces. then he started the thing and laid into the rest of them with the 20 mill autocannen and blew em all straight ta hell.

salah October 12, 2010 at 6:44 pm

i never seen like spider an my life

junior bacon October 20, 2010 at 10:41 am

“that thing is freaking huge”…. thats wat she said!!

S-Queen October 21, 2010 at 11:30 am

That’s two spiders together it’s REALLY not that hard to see the two bodies and the two mouths. You are freaking out about it being so big psssh you don’t have to deal with them! Think of all the soldiers that do have to deal with them. They are desert spiders and they suck ass too! I have friends that have lost good amount of skin and muscle because of these suckers! If you see one back away slowly, if its on you…don’t panic it can sense your fear and it feeds off of it just like it feeds off of camels!!

chelsey October 26, 2010 at 3:04 pm

ewww i would be sooo scared omg

jess November 4, 2010 at 4:17 pm

That is 2 suck together. its pretty obvious.

.
This picture is real. It is a picture of two seperate spiders. The spider looks really big against the soilders leg behind it but its actual size is 5-7 inches still a really big spider but not a monster. I still wouldn’t want to wake up in bed with one reverse coyote ugly style. (You dont have to chew your arm off to get out of bed with it because it already did that for you)

casey November 9, 2010 at 4:56 pm

I don’t know what’s funnier actually stupid people who not only can’t tell that its a faked photo or the people who are so desperate to be cool they make up stories about fighting them in tents. The fact is the largest spider in the world is a golliath bird eating spider which isn’t close to the size of this myth. Given the camel spider isn’t a true spider but it actually doesn’t get bigger then a hand which is why so many people have posted seeing them but they only have small ones in their areas.

lindsey November 17, 2010 at 6:57 pm

GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats HUGE! All my life i have never heard of such a big spider, and i have taken a very big interest in spiders and bugs. Did you know, the daddy-long leg is one of the most poisoness spiders, but its mouth is two small to bite! Ha, I feal sorry for daddy-long legs, having such a venomess power but being able to use it, all they can do is try.

karlee November 17, 2010 at 10:34 pm

ok… i honestly thought the spiders in vancouver BC were big… yeah we got nothing on them… that is soooo sick.. im all itchy just looking at that…………… here come the spider dreams !

plr store November 23, 2010 at 11:25 pm

The son of a bitch is huge

hayhay January 4, 2011 at 10:12 am

AWSOME:)!$* P.S.i want my pickle NOW! from haley/hayhay

Adam January 22, 2011 at 7:31 pm

It’s biologically impossible for a spider to grow that large. Their book lungs, which are essentially gills adapted from that of ancient arthropods just don’t take in nearly enough oxygen for them to grow that large. Thats why all modern arthropods are small, millions of years ago when there was more oxygen maybe, but not now.

dreamer January 23, 2011 at 9:22 pm

i caught one of those thing befor it was ugly azz hell

Ben January 24, 2011 at 1:48 pm

I checked it is fake it’s not a spider but part of a different group of bugs . Can run 15mph though and will bite likes dark and does eat camels . They can get as big as dinner plate . The soldiers are holding the camera near the bugs and standing back giving the illusion they are huge . Still they are very big and I surly wouldn’t wanna bump into one .
