Almost presciently, I recently did an article on google image search. I am a huge proponent of google image search, although it’s far less simple than plain old SEO, it can offer webmasters a huge boost in traffic if it’s leveraged right. Yesterday, Google announced that it was releasing a new version of image search. It’s really different, less gridded, and more organic looking. I just started playing with it, and I’m not really sure what I think. At the very least, it’s a bit jarring considering the look is so new.

Google is using a dom event of sorts to load lots of pages, rather than just one page of images at a time. It only displays the images once they are on screen. Overall, the experience is definitely a faster one. I don’t know if I love the aesthetic, but knowing Google, they’ve done their share of product testing and I may be the only one who doesn’t like it.
