Directory Submission
Directory Submissions are a great way to 1) increase the diversity of of your links and 2) making your link building campaign look natural. When you submit your site to directories, they slowly over the next six months to a year will approve or disapprove your submission. Generally, I assume that about 30% of submitted links are approved. Sometimes it is less, sometimes it is way more. That means, if you submit to 500 directories, over the course of the next six to twelve months, you will get about 150 natural links. If you submit to 1000 directories, over the same period of time, you will get about 300 links. The directories we submit to have pages in the SERPs and pass page rank. In our experience, a Directory submission is a great way to start off a link building campaign for a website.
1000 Directory Submissions
We offer 1000 directory submissions for $200 or $.20 per submission. While the lest of directories submitted to changes all the time, for those of you who are worried about diversity of links, to date the average distribution is as follows
- 6% of the directories have page ranks between 4 and 8.
- 43% of the directories have a home page rank between 1 and 3.
- 51% of the directories have a home page rank of 0.
We have found that as links come in, our directory submissions tend to offer decent organic looking links. As is the case with most posts, you will usually get most of your links from low quality sites and blogs, and very few from high quality sites and blogs.
It should be noted that directory submissions can only be used for your site’s home page. They are not appropriate most of the time for internal links as most directories do not accept internal links.
