If you’ve never heard of Wolfram Alpha, you’re probably no different than 99% of internet users. But I assure you, after today, the name will become a mainstay. What is it? Wolfram Alpha is a new type of search engine. Wolfram Alpha is not meant to compete with Google (although some have speculated that Google is planning to compete with Wolfram Alpha), it is a new type of search engine altogether.
While it is billed as a computational search engine, what Wolfram Alpha really does is look at what you ask and find an answer. It doesn’t send you to pages like google. Rather, it keeps you within its own pages and does what it can to answer your questions. It’s pretty nifty. And for that reason, I encourage you to check it out. You’ll get addicted.
